We always see the success stories, but what we see is only the people who made it big. We appreciate and celebrate their success yet rarely witness the immense struggle they went through to get there. But they managed to get out of many failures and rejections to make their big successes.

Many times, we never come across failure stories, and due to this most of us are afraid of being failed or failures. We are always left with being linked with such success and not with their failures. But in the real world, you should embrace failures because they are inevitable in life.

Colonel Harland Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken was rejected 1,009 times with his recipes before anyone accepted it.
Before creating the Harry Potter series, JK Rowling was clinically depressed and her original ‘Harry Potter’ pitch was rejected 12 times before it was accepted by a publisher.
Long before Arianna Huffington launched Huffington Post, 36 publishers rejected her second book.
Before Walt Disney built Disneyland, he was told he lacked creativity.
It took 60 meetings and 22 investors for Jeff Bezos to raise 1 million to start Amazon in 1995. The first question he faced from every investor was, What’s the internet? But he succeeded in raising the investment and the rest is history.
What does all this mean?
Most of us fail, even the most successful people failed many times in their life. They got rejected multiple times, but it is courage and passion made them what they are today. In this story, we will bring some proven strategies for overcoming failures and rejection that happens in our life.
1. Accept failures
First, understand that humans are prone to errors, so fundamentally everybody makes mistakes and fails. The difference is how you take failures and keep moving forward. Learn from failures, this is how many great people finally succeeded. What sets them apart is how they channeled that failure into something positive.
You need to keep in mind that failures are part of our journey and you cannot run away or hide from it so better use to live along with it. Only make sure that you don’t make the same mistakes twice in your life.
2. Forget about your past, live in the present
We only see the success stories of people, if we do a little research on them, we could see how many times they had failed in their life, but they never regretted or wasted time worrying about their failures. What happened has happened, you cannot change it no matter how much you are going to worry about it.

I had seen many people carrying their backpack of failures and worrying and wasting their valuable time. Instead, I always tell them to focus on your future. You had failed, it already happened and now thinking or worrying about failure will not change your past. What you can do best is to learn from the failure and move forward with better plans.
3. Take responsibility of failure and learn lessons
Taking responsibility for the failure is the single most thing you should do to retrospect yourself. Accept the failure and analyse the root cause behind it.
Learning from failures will make you stronger. Be honest with yourself and think about how you failed. What was the reason and where did you go wrong?
Here are the questions that can ask yourself
- What was the root cause of your failure?
- Why didn’t you realize it then?
- How to avoid the same mistakes in your future?
4. Ignore negative people
There are two types of people you may come across your life. The first one is positive people who always try to lift you and keeps you motivated. The second is negative people who always try to take you down with their aggressive criticism.

Negative people can cause big trouble to you, they will burn your energy and make you worse in times of failure. They always try to find faults in you and let you down. You need to keep away from such people and ignore them in life.
5. Set new goals in your life
Setting new goals in your life will keep you motivated. Try to visualize the outcome of your goals every morning to get energized yourself. Visualization is a powerful method that provokes your minds to do great things.

Setting proper goals and planning about your future will make your first step towards your success. Keep telling about the outcomes and rewards that may get you once you reach your goals. Every day try to spend 10 minutes thinking this before you start daily activities.
6. Move forward, time will heal everything
Time will heal everything, slowly you will start forgetting about your failures and will focus on the present. Occupy your mind with future and present, so that you can completely focus on your goals.
Set a target time for achieving your goals and breakdowns the goals into milestones. Keep working to achieve your goals constantly without thinking about the past.
We cannot avoid mistakes or failures in our journey, they are part of it. But when you start it fresh again try to be more realistic and identify the areas that you may get kicked and find an alternate plan if such events occurred. Always have a Plan B and Plan C in your goals, if something got screwed you can just switch your plans without much affecting your goals.
